The Seattle Surge defeated OpTic Texas 3-2 today in the second round of the elimination bracket to end their season at the Call of Duty League Playoffs for the second consecutive year. OpTic wasted no time getting over yesterday’s defeat to the New York Subliners when the Hardpoint hosted them at Mercado Las Almas for the first game of the series. The first set of rotations on the map was back-and-forth, with the score tied at 113 midway through the final Hardpoint of rotations.

But after that, both the kill feed and the scoreboard started to glow OpTic green. If you need more information about OpTic Texas being disqualified from the CoD Champions in 2023 by Seattle Surge, then read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

OpTic struggled in the second map compared to how well they did in the first. OpTic won the first round of Al Bagra Fortress Search and Destroy thanks to Ghosty’s three kills. But after that, Surge was everything. Seattle won the map and tied the series at one game each by winning six of the following seven rounds. Sib and Pred each contributed seven kills, with Accuracy taking the lead with ten.

OpTic once again appeared impressive as it entered the third and most important map on Breenbergh Hotel Control. They won the first two games to take a decisive 2-0 lead on the map. Although Texas turned out to be too strong, Seattle did manage to win the third round with a defensive stand. Despite having a healthy life advantage and trailing 2-1, OpTic managed to win the round and the map 3-1 despite the Surge’s inability to win the necessary trade battles.

Al Bagra Fortress hosted the fourth map of the match as OpTic sought to wrap up the series and advance to the next stage of the elimination bracket as the series changed gears for the second Hardpoint. Seattle turned the conventional wisdom that Fortress was one of the team’s best maps in 2023 on its head. There were 55 combined kills from Sib and Pred, who were dispersed throughout the map.

But it was Mack who put an end to the Green Wall’s chances, scoring massive kills after massive kills at crucial junctures all over the map. His team was able to advance to a decisive game five thanks in part to his 32 kills, which put him in first place in the lobby, and 1.78 K/D on the map.

Seattle once again excelled in the SnD in a win-or-go-home situation. Before OpTic responded with their own two rounds of Mercado Las Almas Search and Destroy, Seattle took the first two rounds. However, the Surge appeared to outwit OpTic at every turn, winning three consecutive rounds to advance to match point. In the eighth round, Sib found himself in a difficult one-vs-three situation but quickly picked up a kill onto Huke to change it to a one-vs-two. Once he tore Dashy off a heady, he was left facing Ghosty alone.

However, Sib was able to prevail in the gunfight, allowing Surge to win the round and the series and move on to the next stage of the elimination bracket. For a place in the elimination bracket finals and a top-four finish, they will compete against the winner of the Atlanta FaZe vs. Boston Breach matchup. Seattle has the chance to improve on their third-place finish at CoD Champs from last year if they can win two more games.

After a season that saw numerous roster changes, including the retirement of Scump, one of the greatest competitive Call of Duty players of all time, OpTic must start over. It is unknown which players will stay on the roster, but it would be shocking to see them try to repeat their championship-free season with the same four players.

Pred, a superstar from Seattle, has been linked to a number of rumors regarding a potential offseason transfer to OpTic. Prior to adding Huke to its roster, the team tried to buy out the second-year player from Seattle earlier this year, but negotiations fell through.
