One Punch Man Episode 9 : Unyielding Justice

As Saitama waits for the Hero Association to decide if they want his help against the Deep Sea King, Genos begins the battle and seemingly defeats the monster with a massive attack. However, he let his guard down and severed his arm. He tells everyone to run while he distracts the monster, as victory is no longer guaranteed. He seemed to be doing just fine, until the Deep Sea King threw an acid orb at a little girl, which was intercepted by Genos, and it melted her biological body, nearly killing him.

At this moment, just before the Sea King  finished Genos, Mumen Rider appeared and engaged the Deep Sea King. He was easily defeated, but refused to give up. Seeing that, everyone decided to cheer him up but to no avail. When Mumen Rider was knocked unconscious, he was aided by Saitama, who was assigned a support mission by the Association, and arrived at that  moment. After exchanging a few words with the Deep Sea King, he defeated it with a single punch and was praised by the townspeople. Sonic also reappears with his weapon in another part of town, but assumes the Deep Sea King must have escaped.

Back at their apartment, Genos and Saitama receive a  fan letter from the Hero Association. Genos is congratulated, while Saitama receives a hate letter, calling him a fraud. The episode goes back to flashbacks right after Saitama’s victory. Everyone was overjoyed to be saved and were impressed with Saitama’s quick victory. However, one of them began to disparage the other heroes, saying that they must be impostors, regardless of rank, since they were defeated. His reasoning was that the Deep Sea King couldn’t be that tough if a C-rank hero defeated him with a single hit. Hearing this, Saitama laughed and downplayed his victory to save the  other heroes’ reputation and said that he was lucky and the job was easy for him, as he was late and The monster has been weakened.

He also takes care of fallen heroes and urges people  so that they can profit from their work.People accept him as an impostor and appreciate their work. Genos decides not to interfere in Saitama’s decisions, but promises to intervene if that decision corners Saitama  in the future. After that, he  finds a third letter from the Hero Association, telling him that he is currently Rank 1 C Class, and calls him  to discuss  promotion to B Class. I was. Saitama accepts him and makes him 101st, B-class.

The episode cuts to Sweet Mask during her work. One of his subordinates told him that Saitama had been promoted. Sweet Mask doesn’t seem to  care, as he is frustrated with the work of the A and S-class heroes in the Deep Sea King case. However, he changed his mind when he said that Saitama was the one who actually defeated the monster. Meanwhile at the hospital, Lightning Max and Stinger are recovering when Prisoner Puri-Puri walks in, wanting to pass “Angel Shots” to them. They escape, dropping the newspapers they were reading, and the Puri-Puri inmates are distraught to find themselves called “S-class losers” in the news. The episode ends with Saitama returning home in the evening with his promotions. He meets Mumen Rider at a roadside oden shop. Mumen Rider reveals that he sent a letter of thanks and paid for Saitama’s dinner. After the credits, Shibabawa, a fortune teller, warns an official of the Hero Association that “Earth has perished”
