Goburou and Gobukichi go on a hunting trip in the first episode. But things take a surprising turn when they meet a gang of human killers out to kidnap Mail Failo Rheinfall, the elf princess. Although he is first reluctant to meddle in human issues, Goburou decides to save Mail in the end. Still, the conflict results in the deaths of Mail’s guards.
After that, Goburou eats all of the human assailants he seized after interrogating them to get crucial information about the human army’s operations. Following an account of the incident, he confides in Mail his fears that an elf betrayer was involved. Despite Mail’s initial annoyance, she eventually realizes that Goburou and the goblins have nothing to do with the growing violence between humans and elves.
Goburou and Gobukichi ensure the safe delivery of mail to the elf village. There, she meets the elf chieftain and presents her rescuers, sparking diplomatic talks between the goblins and the elves.
