Following the merger of NPD Group and Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) in 2022, NPD BookScan rebranded as Circana Books in March. It collects point-of-sale data on print books from various sources, including e-tailers, chains, independent bookstores, and more, covering about 85% of the U.S. trade print book market.

The rankings on this chart are based on piece sales, and some publishers may categorize primarily text or art books as graphic novels, which ICv2 excludes from the rankings.
