One Piece Chapter 1087 is titled “Battleship Bag.” Marine Base G-1 is where the chapter starts. Brannew is taking Jango and Fulibody to see the wrecks of two very large battleships. Brannew says that they are “battleship bags,” which are like “sandbags” but are actually “ships.” Garp uses them to get better at throwing punches. Brannew says, “There are also two ships because Aokiji used one of them.” Garp and Aokiji had a special rule: when they punched ships, they never used Haki or other special skills.
The scene then changed to Hachinosu, also known as “Pirate Island,” where Garp is still facing Blackbeard Pirates. San Juan Wolf is in the sea because Garp threw him there. We can see that the ship with the members of Sword and the prisoners is already out to sea. Garp, Koby, and Grus are the only ones fighting on the island. Garp’s health is getting worse, so all of the Blackbeard Pirates keep attacking him.
Cross Guild says that Garp’s reward is worth 3 Crowns, which is equal to 3 million Berries. It costs exactly the same as Marine Admirals. We see the first time Garp met Kuzan in a new flashback scene. The chapter doesn’t say when it happened, but Garp appears very young, so it probably happened a long time before Roger was killed. Young Kuzan asked Garp to be his disciple, but Garp told him to go learn with the Marine Instructors instead (maybe Garp talked about Zephyr). Kuzan said no and tried to be like Garp by hitting the battleships as he did. As the days passed, Kuzan’s punch got stronger and stronger until it was as loud as Garp’s.
Garp was getting closer to Kuzan as time went on. He even talked to Kuzan about his family while the two of them ate snacks. Garp: “Damn it, my son turned into a rebel!
