One Piece Chapter 1080: Pirates vs. Marines: Clash on Hachinosu – Koby’s Daring Escape and Garp’s Galaxy Fist Retribution.

Unfolds as Koby’s Bounty Escapes, Blackbeard’s Plans Unfold, and Garp Takes on the Pirates with his Powerful Galaxy Fist Attack

Reports on Hachinosu reveal that Koby, a notorious pirate with a high bounty from Cross Guild, has escaped from prison and is now on the run. This news excites many of the pirates, as Koby’s bounty is equivalent to five stars, or five treasure chests of loot. However, their attention is suddenly drawn to a speaking skull-rock face, which identifies itself as Avalo Pizarro. Pizarro has consumed the Shima Shima no Mi, a devil fruit that allows him to merge with the island itself, granting him the ability to see, feel, and hear everything that happens on Hachinosu. He alerts the pirates that their slaves are attempting to escape, but cautions them to keep the slaves alive to avoid Blackbeard’s wrath. Pizarro’s unique abilities as an island-merged pirate add an intriguing twist to the situation on Hachinosu, keeping the pirates on their toes as they deal with the escape of Koby and the fleeing slaves.

Koby realizes that their cover has been blown and to protect the other slaves, he offers himself as a decoy. Shiryu, who is with Pizarro, suggests that he can catch Koby and the slaves all by himself, as he has merged with the island using his Devil Fruit power. However, Pizarro refuses, mentioning that Blackbeard gets angry when too much damage is caused. Vasco Shot then offers to handle the situation, as he has also eaten a Devil Fruit, the Gabu Gabu no Mi, which allows him to manipulate alcohol. But his idea is to set the town on fire to trap the slaves, which earns him a scolding from Pizarro, who reminds him that Blackbeard would be upset with such reckless actions, especially after they just finished repairing the damage from a previous incident. Vasco Shot defends himself by saying he would be more careful than Sanjuan Wolf, who has consumed the Deka Deka no Mi and can enlarge his already giant body.

Koby’s daring plan is set in motion, and as he flees from the pursuing pirates, he realizes that escaping on foot is a near-impossible feat. However, he remains determined to press on for the sake of his fellow captives. In a revealing flashback, it is unveiled that Blackbeard had kidnapped Koby to use him as a bargaining chip. The notorious pirate had devised a scheme where he would establish Hachinosu as a recognized nation by the World Government, with Koby as its king. Koby, being a member of SWORD, the secret organization within the World Government, denounces Blackbeard’s insane plan, feeling that it is a futile effort to sway him. Blackbeard is puzzled by Koby’s reference to SWORD, but Kuzan, who is present, steps in to enlighten him on the true nature of SWORD.

Kuzan, also known as Aokiji, shares that members of the Marines’ covert group, SWORD, do not have official recognition on paper. They have relinquished their Marine codes and resigned their commission, allowing them to operate without certain protocols hindering them, such as needing authorization to engage with powerful adversaries like the Emperors. Kuzan further reveals that the World Government can disavow SWORD members at any time. Despite understanding this, Blackbeard remains unwavering in his plan, confident that Koby’s status as a hero would protect him from being abandoned by the World Government or facing public outrage. He even threatens to damage the World Government’s reputation if things go awry, but for now, he insists on having Koby imprisoned.

Koby, on the run and being pursued, recalls how Perona had set him free as he had helped her in freeing Gecko Moria from imprisonment. Suddenly, an explosion rocks the island, and Koby realizes that the Marines have arrived, though he doubts they came just for him. The Marines prove to be formidable, with one of them appearing to be indestructible due to being made of clay. Additionally, Kujaku, a Marine Rear Admiral and the granddaughter of “Great Staff Officer” Tsuru, is seen using her Devil Fruit power, the Muchi Muchi no Mi, to control and manipulate objects, including buildings. The situation becomes chaotic as pirates and Marines clash in the midst of this new threat posed by Kujaku’s powers.

Koby is trapped by pirates who try to shoot him, but their bullets explode into flowers due to Hibari, a sniper using Dr. Vegapunk’s GP Flowers. She contacts Prince Grus, who has the Gunyo Gunyo no Mi power to control clay, and he assures her that he and Kujaku have the situation handled with their clay soldiers.

Kujaku’s strategic maneuvering has successfully ensnared multiple pirates, leaving them with no escape. In a bold move, Marine Commander Monkey D. Garp launches a ship high into the air and leaps off, unleashing his devastating Galaxy Fist attack. He exacts retribution for the kidnapping of his prized protégé, whom he sees as the future of the Marines, completely decimating the pirates and sending a clear message of the consequences of crossing the Marines.
