Ben Brode and some former Blizzard developers have finally announced their next big project in the form of Marvel Snap. It will be a zippy ‘card battler,’ and aims to offer great fun to players as quickly as possible. But the game doesn’t go light on strategy despite this snappy pace of the gameplay.

In this article, we will discuss all the details that players should know about the upcoming game.

Marvel Snap release date

Marvel Snap came out on October 18, 2022, for both iOS and Android platforms globally. The developers released an early access build for PCs on the same day. This global release also came with an Open Beta period where select players were allowed to try the game before it was launched.

Marvel Snap Trailer

The initial announcement trailer gave a glimpse of the gameplay that players experienced in the open beta.

Marvel Snap gameplay

The game emphasizes on speed and is touted to be among the quickest card games out there. Marvel Snap will feature decks of just 12 cards each and a game will last a few quick minutes on average, letting players compete rapidly without wasting time.

In 1v1 matches, players will take on each other to gain majority control over three distinct zones. Placing cards down and gaining more power than the opponent in two of the three zones will ensure victory for the players.

There are “well over 150 cards” in the game, developers have confirmed, with all Marvel icons bringing a unique function to the table. Some offer buffs for other characters while some cards could flip sides and reduce the strength of your opponent’s cards.

Marvel Snap is a free-to-play title; however, developers have already clarified that players can earn “every card in the game over time without paying anything.”
