Esports has taken the nation by storm, with India witnessing numerous tournaments offering substantial prize pools and exciting events held frequently. As competitive gaming gains significant traction, various esports organizations, tournament organizers, and talent agencies have emerged, fostering the growth of a thriving ecosystem. The remarkable expansion of esports has now prompted the nation to take the field seriously. In a groundbreaking move, one Indian state is stepping up its game to make its mark in the esports arena. Madhya Pradesh Leads the Way with India’s First Esports Academy and BGMI Tournament.

Madhya Pradesh Unveils the First-Ever Online Gaming Academy in India

In a recent report by the Times of India, the Madhya Pradesh sports department announced the launch of India’s pioneering ‘Online Gaming Academy,’ set to open its doors next month. This revolutionary gaming institution, known as the “MP State Esports Academy,” aims to provide aspiring gamers with the perfect platform to hone their skills. Additionally, the state has revealed its plans to organize the prestigious “MP State Junior Esports Championship” exclusively for BGMI players across Madhya Pradesh.

MP Junior Esports Championship: A Platform for Young Talents to Shine

Scheduled to take place from July 27 to August 7, the MP Junior Esports Championship welcomes participants aged 12 to 17 to showcase their gaming prowess. For those eager to participate in this thrilling event, the registration process is now open, with aspiring players having until July 23 to sign up.

Nurturing Talent through MP State Esports Academy

The Madhya Pradesh Department of Sports and Youth Welfare has devised an ingenious plan to identify and nurture top esports talents through the BGMI tournament. According to the registration guidelines, 80 percent of the available seats in the final selection are reserved for talented gamers hailing from Madhya Pradesh, while the remaining 20 percent will be open to players from other states across the country.

Selected esports athletes will receive “intensive coaching” and “top-quality esports education” during a comprehensive 12-month program, and the best part is—this extraordinary opportunity comes without any charge. While specific details regarding the “esports education” and the esteemed coaches involved remain undisclosed, rest assured that Madhya Pradesh is committed to bringing out the best in its esports stars.

First-Ever BGMI Tournament by a State Government

Notably, the decision to organize an official BGMI tournament by a state government is intriguing, given the controversy surrounding the game’s provisional return after a ban. However, it aligns with Krafton’s confirmation that Indian gamers can qualify for the 2022 Asian Games through BGMI, a statement issued back in 2021.

With India now participating in numerous international events, where players have the chance to secure glory for their nation on a global stage, the inclusion of esports as a medal sport has significantly accelerated its acceptance in the country. This newfound acceptance has turned esports into a dream and a passion for the Indian youth, who are eager to leave their mark on the world stage.

MP State Esports Academy in Pursuit of Asian Games and Olympics Glory

The visionary Sports Minister, Yashodhara Raje Scindia, proudly claims that Madhya Pradesh is evolving into a sports hub. The primary “objective” behind establishing the Esports Academy is to pave the way for India’s triumph in the Asian Games and Olympics. This ambitious initiative showcases Madhya Pradesh’s dedication to helping the youth pursue their passions, making a significant impact on the realm of competitive gaming.

In addition to the esports initiative, the state government has unveiled a remarkable Break Dance Academy for children. Scindia firmly believes that such academies will play a pivotal role in transforming the passion of the youth into a fruitful profession. This exciting news undoubtedly augurs well for India, and gaming enthusiasts nationwide hope that other states follow in the footsteps of Madhya Pradesh. With the MP State Esports Academy leading the charge, India’s gaming future looks exceptionally bright.
