Chetan “Kronten” Chandgude, the creator and CEO of GodLike Esports, recently spoke about the factors that led to the breakup of GodLike Esports and Stalwart Esports. The co-founders of Stalwart Esports were lauded, and he recognised the advantages of their cooperation. He disclosed that Krafton’s rules forbid two teams from the same company, and GodLike Esports wanted to increase its esports efforts globally by hiring an international team. Along with big changes for GodLike Esports and the Indian esports landscape in 2023, Kronten also alluded to the registration of a second company outside of India. Additionally, he promised that by the end of March, there would be foreign esports announcements. Kronten sheds light on the reasons behind the split between GodLike Esports and Stalwart Esports.

GodLike Esports’ intentions for international growth are revealed by Kronten

During a recent livestream, Kronten addressed a question from a viewer about why Stalwart Esports and GodLike Esports had parted ways. Kronten spoke highly of Stalwart Esports and its co-founders, Zeyan Shaikh and Towqeer Gilkar, praising their expertise in esports and describing them as “great people.” He also acknowledged the positive aspects of their collaboration and noted that GodLike Esports had learned a lot from working with them.

Kronten went on to explain that the primary reason for the separation was GodLike’s desire to expand its esports efforts globally. The organization’s goal of hiring an international team meant that having two teams within the same organization was not permissible under Krafton’s regulations. As a result, GodLike had to break its partnership with Stalwart and pursue its global ambitions with a new team.

“We want to take GodLike Esports on the global stage,” Kronten said. “We want to hire an international team. There were a lot of international teams that played well recently, like two Nepal teams and from other countries as well.” He added that the new team would be announced in the future and that Stalwart would continue to grow with its current team.

Overall, Kronten’s explanation suggests that the separation between Stalwart Esports and GodLike Esports was driven by strategic considerations related to global expansion rather than any negative factors or disputes between the two organizations. It also highlights the competitive nature of the esports industry and the importance of staying abreast of the latest trends and best practices in order to succeed.

During a recent livestream, Kronten revealed that GodLike Esports had registered a second company outside of India, but did not disclose its location. He teased viewers, asking them to guess where the new company was based. Kronten also hinted at big moves from GodLike Esports in 2023 and suggested that March would see some announcements related to international esports.

The collaboration between GodLike Esports and Stalwart Esports began in July 2022, just before the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) 2022. The two Indian mobile esports giants joined forces, and Stalwart Esports’ PUBG Mobile team was rebranded as ‘GodLike Stalwart’ for the competition. The partnership proved to be successful, but GodLike Esports’ plans for global expansion meant that the collaboration had to end. Krafton’s regulations prohibit two teams within the same organization, so GodLike Esports had to separate from Stalwart Esports.

Stalwart Esports will continue to operate in PUBG Mobile with its Mongolian roster, while GodLike Esports is planning to sign an international roster. The dissolution of the partnership does not seem to have affected the relationship between the two organizations. Kronten spoke highly of Stalwart Esports and its co-founders, and it is possible that the two companies will collaborate again in the future.

Overall, Kronten’s comments suggest that GodLike Esports is making significant moves in the esports industry and is positioning itself as a major player on the global stage. The Indian esports scene is also set to benefit from this, as GodLike Esports’ success could inspire other Indian esports organizations to follow suit.
