Jujutsu Kaisen’s origin lies in the talented hands of Gege Akutami, who launched the manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. As part of its Jump Start initiative, Viz Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English simultaneously with Japan. Later, Viz began publishing new chapters of the manga digitally when it switched to its new Shonen Jump model in December 2018. The manga is also available digitally on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service, which has been a popular platform for fans around the world to follow the manga’s gripping storyline.

According to Viz Media, the first part is as follows:

Despite his unassuming appearance, Yuji Itadori possesses an incredible amount of physical strength that makes him the envy of every sports club in his school. However, Itadori prefers spending his time with the Occult Research Club, a group of misfits and outcasts who share his interest in the supernatural. One day, the club uncovers a mysterious and sealed cursed object, unleashing a wave of terror and chaos when they accidentally break the seal. As the events unfold, Itadori must face the consequences of his actions and harness his abilities to confront the dark forces that threaten to destroy everything he holds dear.

Gege Akutami’s manga prequel story, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō (Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School), serves as the source material for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film. The movie explores the origins of the series’ beloved characters and their journey to becoming powerful jujutsu sorcerers. Meanwhile, Jujutsu Kaisen fans can also look forward to the release of the Phantom Parade smartphone role-playing game, set to launch in spring 2023. Players will be able to immerse themselves in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen and experience thrilling battles and heart-warming interactions with their favorite characters
