In the previous chapter, Kusakabe uses a special sword technique called “New Shadow Style: Evening Moon Sword Drawing” against Sukuna. Sukuna is surprised because he can easily counter attacks with his powers. Kusakabe explains that his technique creates a special area where his powers are stronger.
Kusakabe also adds a feature in his technique that automatically attacks anyone who enters his special area. Sukuna is impressed by Kusakabe’s skill, but then Kusakabe surprises him by using his powers without any visible movements.
Then, we saw flashbacks where Kusakabe is appreciated by others for his skills in combat. Gojo appreciates Kusakabe’s unique ability to create his special area without any restrictions. Miwa, another witch, also needs to keep both feet on the ground to use this technique.
Kusakabe senses Sukuna’s next move and expands the area of his technique to counter it. Even Sukuna is surprised by this. Mei explains that Kusakabe’s strategy is different from usual sword techniques.
Kusakabe attacks Sukuna with a series of cuts, but his sword breaks, he continues fighting without it. He realizes that he is fighting so hard because he feels indebted to Principal Yaga and wants to protect the students.
Despite losing his sword, Kusakabe uses another technique called “Hazy Moon” to form an aura that covers the remaining part of his broken sword. Sukuna easily stops his attack and mocks him for aiming at his damaged heart.
After that, sukuna is about to attack another character named Ui Ui, Miguel arrives and saves him. Miguel taunts Sukuna for not recognizing him and the chapter ends.
