When fans saw the final match between Talon and Blacklist International, they expected an all-out showdown. Despite aggressive selection on both sides, audiences didn’t see a single hero until Talon’s Mikoto had had enough. While Blacklist Rivalry was looking for revenge after being denied by Talon Esports the opportunity to go to the Major itself in a tiebreaker, Talon Esports managed to take down Blacklist Rivalry once again.

Mikoto’s Templar Assassin (TA) catches Blacklist’s Riki off guard and bleeds her 22 minutes into the match. At that point, TA already had the Aegis of Immortal to his name. Seeing as he also had his main items, the Desolator and Dragon Lance, it was time for some action.Immediately after the first kill of the match, both teams began taking more risks, which enhanced the overall viewing experience. Despite the late first blood, both teams came close to hitting multiple times throughout the match. When the lane phase ended, everyone continued to play safe and farm their main items, which postponed first blood for about 10 minutes.

BO3 ended in a similar fashion, with Talon Esports defeating Blacklist Rivalry 2:1. The team has now advanced to the Grand Finals of BTS Pro Series Season 14: South East Asia. However, we may still see a rematch between the two, as the other finalists are yet to be decided during the Lower Bracket Finals. Tomorrow, Blacklist will face Fnatic to qualify for the Grand Finals and seek revenge on Talon.

Organized by Beyond the Summit, Pro Series Season 14: SEA begins on January 28. Twelve teams were invited to the tournament, four of which have already secured playoff spots. Other squads had to battle through the group stage and finish in the top 4 to qualify for the playoffs. However, none of those who qualified made it through to the playoffs.

While Dota 2 has had its fair share of boring patches over the years, the current meta is considered one of the most balanced, meaning there can always be action all around the map. Showing such discipline and refraining from taking unnecessary risks for 22 minutes can be considered a great display of skill, no matter how dull it may sound to the spectators. Talon eventually won the match.
