The Goddess’s backstory, as revealed in the previous chapter of I Became The Wife Of The Monstrous Crown Prince, involves her falling in love with Philip and bestowing upon him all her powers to become a human. Philip forces her to reveal everything by asking her to show him how to use light magic offensively.

As Philip’s lineage persisted, the Goddess spiraled into madness as she was unable to die or escape the perpetual flame. She mistook Anthea’s arrival for a rescue mission. But when Anthea begs the Goddess to remove Blake’s curse, the Goddess goes insane and hurts Anthea.
As soon as she hurt Anthea, the Goddess felt remorse and swapped bodies with her to ensure her immortality. Because of this, Anthea remained a mystery to Blake for seven years following her healing, and even when she was physically present, he failed to recognize her.
