The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) competitive scene is no stranger to controversy, and the latest allegations come from Nishant “iFlicks” Murlidharan, the esports coach of Hyderabad Hydras. In a post on social media, he accused the hosts of the ongoing pro scrims of denying slots to his team for the past month, despite their repeated requests. Hyderabad Hydras Allegedly Denied Slots at BGMI Pro Scrims: iFlicks Exposes Ongoing Problems.

Alleged Hypocrisy by Pro Scrims Hosts

iFlicks expressed his frustration over what he claims is hypocrisy by the hosts of the pro scrims. According to him, Hyderabad Hydras is a tier-one organization and a finalist at all official BGMI events. The team pays its players salaries so that they can play and practice, yet they are consistently denied slots at the pro scrims. iFlicks alleged that some teams with incomplete rosters and contacts in high places are being given invites, while Hyderabad Hydras, which is trying hard to sustain itself, is receiving nothing for its efforts. He concluded his post by stating that despite the organizers’ claim that they want to boost Indian esports, it’s all politics.

Hyderabad Hydras’ Achievements in BGMI

Hyderabad Hydras has consistently participated in BGMI events, such as the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021, Nodwin X Loco All-Stars Invitational, BGMI Masters Series 2022, and BGIS Showdown 2022. Even though BGMI has been banned, the team is hopeful for the game’s return and is trying to practice in the ongoing pro scrims.

Mavi and Hrishav Express Frustration

Mavi, one of the most accomplished players in the BGMI community, recently revealed that he was denied a slot in BGMI scrims due to a “lack of achievements.” However, Hemanth “Ultron” Sethi, Mavi’s former teammate, noted that there were several teams that did not meet the same criteria but were still allowed to play in the ongoing scrims.

Mavi has several achievements to his name, including a third-place finish in the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 – Spring Split: India, a second-place finish in the PUBG Mobile India Tour 2019, and a second-place finish at the PUBG Mobile World League 2020: East event. Hrishav “Hrishav” Kumar also expressed his frustration with the internal politics in the ongoing scrims.

It is disheartening to see that the BGMI competitive scene is marred by such allegations of politics and favoritism. It is essential for the organizers to be transparent in their selection process and ensure that deserving teams and players get a fair chance to participate in the pro scrims. We hope that the ongoing problems will be addressed and resolved soon so that the focus can shift back to improving the overall standard of Indian esports.
