Arriving unprepared, Tsubasa reveals his intention to offer them return gifts. Matsuo had been eavesdropping on their chat the whole time, it turns out. He then approaches Tsubasa for guidance on how to make amends with Minami and Sayuri for being impolite on Valentine’s Day. A heartfelt apology, Tsubasa assures him, will suffice.
Thanks to Tsubasa’s wise counsel, Minami and Sayuri are able to forgive Matsuo. Tsubasa also makes milk senbei rice crackers with the help of his grandmother, and they receive them as White Day presents.
Upon returning home, he informs his grandma that his friends requested the recipe because they loved the food so much. After dark, Tsubasa receives a text message from Matsuo extending an invitation to go smelt fishing on Sunday at Lake Abashiri. He chooses to go because he has never done it previously.
When Shiki and Matsuo reach Lake Abashiri, they see Minami Fuyuki and her family already there. They transform the outing into a lively group activity by deciding to go fishing together.
As Tsubasa discovers more about Minami, such as her love of cosmetics, the encounter becomes unforgettable. They share a modest feast by the lake after catching a haul of smelts. Shortly after their fishing trip, Tsubasa gets a cold. Upon learning of his condition, Sayuri sends him a text message to see how he is doing.
