Microsoft believes GTA 6 will hit the market shelves in 2024, as per documents regarding the Activision Blizzard acquisition that Sony wants to stop from happening. GTA 6 will definitely be one of the biggest events in gaming history. The much-anticipated game has been in development for years now, but Rockstar Games hasn’t announced the game yet.

However, fans might finally get to see the first look at the highly-anticipated game pretty soon if Microsoft’s prediction has some truth to it. Microsoft believes that the next installment in the GTA franchise will be coming in 2024, according to a 111-page document filed to the Competition and Markets Authority in the United Kingdom.

GTA 6 launching in 2024?

According to a report from insider-Gaming, inside the document was a quote from Microsoft saying, “The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV is expected to be released in 2024.”

Microsoft cites leaks from Tech Radar as the reason behind its belief of GTA 6’s launch timeline. However, it’s likely that the company has more knowledge about the game’s planned release.

Fans should note that the Activision Blizzard acquisition has resulted in Sony suggesting that the PlayStation 6 will be launched sometime after 2027, so if Microsoft’s prediction is right, GTA 6 could have a good life on current-generation consoles before embracing the next-gen platforms.
