In the wake of the highly anticipated return of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), esports organizations left in the lurch without any tournaments are gearing up to reinvigorate their operations at full throttle. Gods Reign, a prominent entity in India’s esports landscape, has recently hinted at an impending acquisition of the current TSM roster for BGMI. While official confirmation from Gods Reign is still pending, rumors abound regarding this potential partnership.

Gods Reign Teases its Upcoming BGMI Roster

“Today marks a momentous occasion for the Indian esports ecosystem. We are eagerly awaiting what the most anticipated game has in store for us! Stay tuned for the roster announcement,” declared the official post on Gods Reign’s social media platforms. As of now, no specific date for the roster announcement has been disclosed.

This development coincides with the Los Angeles-based esports organization facing significant downsizing measures following the termination of their $210 million USD naming rights deal with FTX, as the cryptocurrency market experienced a downturn. Reports have surfaced suggesting that TSM is contemplating scaling back its operations across multiple titles, potentially including the BGMI lineup, which has remained dormant throughout the ban period.

What Can We Expect from the New Gods Reign Roster?

Moreover, certain gaming community members believe that the squad had already parted ways with the US organization several weeks ago. The players currently in discussions for the new Gods Reign lineup are Aquanox, Blaze, and Ninjajod. Notably, this trio made an impressive mark in 2021, securing a second-place finish in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021 and emerging victorious in the Nodwin x Loco All Stars Invitational.

However, their track record suffered a setback just prior to the ban on BGMI in India, with TSM finishing at the bottom of two consecutive official tournaments. The departure of Shadow from the lineup also left the roster without an in-game leader (IGL). Reports indicate that Robin, a former teammate with years of synergy alongside these players, will assume the mantle of the IGL for the new Gods Reign lineup.

While Krafton, the game’s developer, has yet to announce the official launch date for BGMI, organizations have ample time to evaluate and refine their new rosters before making definitive statements. Apart from an updated privacy policy, which highlights that BGMI esports events will be facilitated by two Indian agencies, NODWIN Gaming and Tesseract LLC, there have been no further updates on the esports roadmap.

Gods Reign’s potential acquisition of TSM’s BGMI roster has stirred excitement within the Indian esports community. As fans eagerly anticipate the official announcement, both organizations have the opportunity to fine-tune their strategies and make a powerful statement in the reinvigorated BGMI landscape. Stay tuned for further updates on this promising collaboration between Gods Reign and TSM.
