Fortnite has managed to keep its popularity growing among video games across the globe after it burst onto the scene in late 2017. Players around the world still like the innovative and evolving battle royale game every single day. The game is also very accessible, being playable on almost every modern system you can think of.

Ranging from mobile to PC to consoles, there are only some systems missing in the list. However, some of the older systems, like PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, are questionable when speaking of Fortnite’s list of consoles. In this article, we will discuss whether Fortnite can be played on PS3 or Xbox 360 or not.

Can Fortnite be played on PS3?

Unfortunately, people with older PlayStation consoles won’t be able to play Fortnite. Since the battle royale came out after Sony launched the newer PlayStation 4, developer Epic Games thought it wasn’t necessary to launch the game on a console as old as the PS3.

The technology used for the game could overwhelm the PS3, so players wouldn’t have enjoyed playing the game. The graphics would have been choppy which Epic Games wouldn’t have liked. With the PS5 available now, it seems Epic Games would never think of releasing the game on an outdated console.

Can Fortnite be played on Xbox 360?

If Xbox users thought the answer was going to be different, they are wrong. Just as the PS3, Fortnite cannot be played on Xbox 360. While many think that the Xbox 360 was the best console of its time, it will likely never be able to play Fortnite, one of the most played games around the world.
