Even though he was wounded and bleeding, Gangrim was able to escape with the help of Yoon Bom, who arrived at the scene just in time. Yoon Bom offered Gangrim medicine despite his reassurances that his condition was not life-threatening. He said no because he already had plenty.

As Gangrim looked about, he realized something was off. Yoon Bom told him that she’d overheard that the room next to them was a prison. As soon as Gangrim arrived, he inquired about Shin Sooah’s whereabouts. But before Yoon Bom could finish his explanation, Gangrim found Sooah hurt and in horrible shape.

Monsters from the demon realm can mimic their abilities, therefore even if the shadows are vanquished, they will return, as explained by Yoon Bom. After hearing the drums on the second day, they randomly ran into each other. After removing her shadow, Yoon Bom had attempted to aid Sooah.

In addition to the human beings, Yoon Bom’s analysis revealed that the damage had extended to the shadows of the humans. She told Gangrim that Sooah had hurt herself while fighting off her own shadow. She reasoned that this was the best option available given that no one could successfully escape Sooah’s shadow.

Yoon Bom said he would take care of things once the others escaped. But she said Gangrim should have intervened to stop Sooah because she was too nice. Gangrim said that Sooah was not friendly but rather insane. When tending to Sooah’s wounds, he exhausted his supply of healing elixirs.

Yoon Bom, upon witnessing this, began to cry, feeling guilty for not stopping Sooah from taking matters into her own hands. Once Sooah had up her resolve, however, Gangrim realized that not even Yoon Bom could have stopped her.
