EA Sports FC rumors have been doing rounds at a noticeable rate. In this article, we will be discussing everything you should know about EA’s next big project after its FIFA license expires.

FIFA 23 has marked the end of a long-running franchise. After almost a 3-decade partnership, EA announced a rebrand, cutting ties with FIFA. After FIFA 23, EA will be rebranding future titles as EA Sports FC. FIFA President Gianni Infantino revealed a new ‘e-game’ to lock horns with EA Sports FC, and community members highly criticized the bizarre announcement.

Despite losing the FIFA license, EA will still have an exclusive license collection of 19,000 players across 700 plus teams in over 100 stadiums in over 30 leagues. EA also reassured fans that people can still play every familiar game mode. EA said the new title will kick off “an exciting new era.” Let’s dive into the details.

EA Sports FC Ultimate Team

During an interview with the New York Times, EA executive David Jackson said, “Under the licensing conventions that we had agreed with FIFA 10 years ago, there were some restrictions that weren’t going to allow us to be able to build those experiences for players.”

One of those new features might have surfaced, as FUTZone claimed that EA Sports FC Ultimate Team would feature Dynamic Packs. If players manage to open more packs, they will have a higher chance of packing a high-rated or special card.

In 2020, a court in the Netherlands ruled that FIFA Ultimate Team packs are a form of gambling, ordered the company to remove them from the game, and issued a potential fine of $10.9 million. In 2022, the court reversed the ruling, and the huge fine was removed.

Career Mode upgrades

FIFA players have long wished for an online career mode. Similar to Football Manager, the game mode enables players to control different teams in the same save. According to FUTZone, an online career mode is making its way to EA Sports FC. The game mode will reportedly feature no real clubs. Besides, it will have limited server sizes, restricted transfers, and cut scenes.

Pro clubs coming to the game

It is a fan-favorite game mode that hasn’t seen much innovation over the past few games. FIFA 22 introduced Perks and Achetypes, providing every virtual pro more personality and a defined playstyle.

FIFA 23 brought much-needed upgrades to the player growth system, making earning XP to level up a player easy. However, incremental changes in the game did not impress some community members. Fans also did not like EA neglecting the cross-platform functionality with Pro Clubs.

According to FUTZone, Cross play will be a feature in EA Sports FC, allowing players using PC, PlayStation, and Xbox to join forces or face each other.
