EA Sports’ latest version of football game offers the supporters plenty to do in the game. Be it during a match or before and after a match, there are a variety of settings the users can adjust to their own convenience. Ultimate Team continues to be the most popular version yet other areas like Career Mode and Volta Football among others have also got new upgrades. While a few of the new inclusions have been appreciated by gamers, some believe that EA could have done more with the latest version.

Among the latest upgrades by EA Sports FC 24, one of the most fascinating parts is the new Custom Tactics which the gamers can use. When they enter the Career Mode, a user is asked to choose the tactic that he wants his team to play. A player can choose one of Gegenpressing, Tiki Taka, Wing Play, etc. This is mainly done to help the team with the latest training approach. It is to be noted that these tactics can also be changed later in the game. Further, a side can also have multiple tactics.

Each one of these tactics allows the users to play in their own style of play. When a specific game style is chosen, a player is allowed to modify certain parts of the custom tactics and player instructions but they cannot change them all completely. Some tactics have to be maintained within the specified limit. This is done to ensure that the uniqueness of the gameplay is maintained. Now, let us look at the best tactic to attack, gain midfield control and defend resolutely.

Attack – Gegenpressing

This is the best tactic to go all-out attack during the gameplay. It is very similar to the system used by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. They press really hard to win the ball back and, in possession, the Reds attack with lightning pace. The quick transition is what makes it difficult for opponents to deal with them. The game’s tactics are not that different either. With the attacking setup of ‘Fast Build up’ and ‘Direct Passing’ and ‘Press after Possession loss’ strategy, this could prove to be an effective approach if used properly.

Midfield – Tiki Taka

There is no better style of play than Tiki Taka to play a good possession game. With ‘Slow Build up’ and ‘Balanced’ strategy, this approach allows the users to make small paces and constantly have players near them to receive the ball. This strategy became famous after Pep Guardiola’s meteoric rise in the game with Barcelona. Since then, many users have tried to enact it in the game for many years. Finally, EA Sports have made life simple for them by introducing this tactic method in this version of the game.

Best formations: 4-2-3-1, 4-1-2-1-2, 4-3-3

Defence – Park the Bus

‘Park the Bus’ is a term that became popular in the modern era after Jose Mourinho’s successful use of the method in recent years. This tactic allows a team to drop back into a low block and makes life difficult for opponents to play through their defensive line. While the opposing team might have more of the ball, they will struggle to break down a defence with a low block. This approach can be used when a team is defending a lead in later parts of the game.

Best formations: 5-4-1, 5-2-2-1, 5-1-2-1-1
