Previously in Chapter 166

In Chapter 166 of Chainsaw Man, titled “Rain, Brothel, Removal,” the gang picks up where they left off talking about visiting a Soaplands. Katana Man’s revelation that the location he proposed is actually his own makes Asa gag in horror. She attempts to sway Denji’s opinion by saying that a trip to such kind of establishment would be the worst thing for him right now, given his emotional state.

Surprisingly, Denji gives the notion some thought. He casually brings up the fact that he hasn’t gone to the bathroom recently, which he thinks could be the cause of his recent sadness. Asa is shocked and wonders how he can be considering such a drastic action right now. Denji counters by making a parallel, saying that this was just as essential to men as breathing and eating. He turns to Nobana and Haruka for comfort, but they ignore him and play it cool.

Frustrated, Asa reminds Denji of their purpose to find Nayuta and accuses him of being a shameless pig. But Denji shifts the focus and says he has to get his physical needs met first. When the party gets there, they see the building on fire. In Chapter 166 of Chainsaw Man, Katana Man is clearly distressed by what he sees. It starts to pour down rain, which just makes things worse.

Denji beats the ground in wrath and self-loathing after becoming frustrated and blaming his desire for his difficulties. Taking advantage of Denji’s weakness, Yoru assumes control of Asa’s body. At the end of Chapter 166 of Chainsaw Man, she offers to remove Denji’s troublesome part in the hopes that it will fix all of his problems.
