Apex Legends Mobile was released in May for Apple and Android devices. Soon after fans jumped right into the latest iteration of the popular battle royale. While locking horns with other battle royales such as Fortnite and PUBG, which have had mobile versions for a long time, Apex took a long time before jumping on the mobile gaming bandwagon.

The mobile version comes packed with a fully-fledged touch-based interface, which has left some players wondering if it supports mobile-centric controllers. Battle royale players aren’t usually used to touch interfaces; many use the mouse-and-keyboard or controllers. Others are concerned about the accessibility and want to know how devs will address these issues. In this article, we will discuss everything about Apex Legends Mobile controllers.

Controller support for Apex Legends Mobile

Currently, the game doesn’t offer any official support for controllers. During the launch, the development team confirmed they are “actively working on” bringing the controller support to the game. However, they said the feature is yet to reach the level they expect it to reach for release.

Myke Hoff, senior director of product, told Apex enthusiasts they can expect controller support “in the very near future,” but the team needs to do some heavy lifting to bring it to the masses. Respawn has yet to reveal anything about controller support.

Despite that, some players have managed to use their Bluetooth-enabled PlayStation and Xbox controllers for Apex Legends Mobile. It is also working with some other mobile-specific controllers. Players should note that even if their controller does work, it might allow for full functionality and they might come across glitches and bugs while playing the game.

Since controller support is still in the development phase, there is no information regarding what controllers will officially support the game or how Apex Legend Mobile’s control scheme will be altered to suit the controllers. It is advised that players should closely follow Apex Legends Mobile’s social channels to get future updates pertaining to controller support.
