As Zagan taught Nephy magic and removed her slave collar in the fourth episode of An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride, the two became closer. Similarly, Nephy began to gain strength. The addition of Zagan to the order of archdemons, however, causes a dramatic shift in their relationship.
In this episode, we saw how Zagan’s victory over a formidable sorcerer solidified his status as an archdemon. But this change caused a lot of strife among the gang, and Zagan despised that. He matured as a character and showed tremendous bravery in this episode.
Nevertheless, Zagan’s choice to release Nephy was the episode’s most significant development, and it would undoubtedly play a significant role in the forthcoming plotline. Zagan decided it was best to let Nephy go once she was finally free from the collar—a major plot point from the start—and since he was facing new foes as an archdemon. It was for her own safety, yet the news nevertheless wounded Nephy.
Episode 5 of An Archdemon’s Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride will likely feature more of Zagan and Nephy, even though the story’s trajectory is still up in the air. Since they have already developed feelings for one another, they will probably find the parting quite difficult.
We do know, though, that their separation will be short-lived, and that Nephy will return to Zagan at some point. On the other hand, Zagan’s actions about Nephy’s predicament may provide further conflict in episode 5.
