At the beginning of the chapter, the hunter fires arrows at Ronan and Aselle. Ronan, however, is able to stop any arrows from reaching him by cutting them. Ronan recognized them as the makers of the arrows because of their technique. After that, Ronan has a flashback to when he was at a hunting camp.
One of the hunters had been bragging about his homemade arrow at the disciplinary squad’s camp. He informed the group that the unique arrow can detonate against most orc heads. He then turns to Ronan and addresses him as “captain,” asking whether he, too, is interested. Ronan tells him he has no cause to brag about it.
He tells Ronan that an exceptional member of Kaliborro’s Bloodhound is responsible for using the arrow over a hundred times with success in poaching. The narrative then jumps to the present day. Ronan tells Aselle to go into hiding until he gets back.
Then, Ronan sneaks into the woods to observe the hunter. The hunters dispersed as soon as they spotted Ronan headed their way. So Ronan yelled for them to cease attacking and questioned if they couldn’t tell his allies apart.
Before Ronan killed him, the hunter scribbled down the names of the groups and the locations of those groupings. After deciding who to kill next, Ronan will slaughter the rest of his enemies.
We still don’t know why he’s acting this way; perhaps they wronged Ronan in a previous incarnation, and this is his way of exacting retribution. In the following chapter, we will see the egg’s hatching and learn what kind of bird will eventually emerge from it.
