For what seems like forever, the Apex Legends developers have been attempting to find a way to weaken Seer. He has been a powerful force ever since FURIA showed how powerful he could be at the 2022 ALGS Championship, but Respawn hasn’t been able to figure out how to tune down his power without completely nerfing him.

On June 20, a Dressed to Kill collection event update will bring about some significant Seer changes. The Seer you once knew has changed, and this Nerf almost feels like a rework due to the significant changes to his strategy. A Nerf to Seer in Apex Legends?

The top players in the game, however, are having trouble determining whether these will be effective in nerfing Seer or whether Respawn unintentionally buffed him. Seer’s equipment will undoubtedly receive some Nerfs. His tactical ability has been completely removed, altering how the character behaves and removing his ability to cancel healing, revive, and activate a respawn beacon. Seer changes in the Dressed to Kill update

Passive ability (Heartbeat Sensor):

  • The range of the Heartbeat Sensor reduced from 75m to 50m
  • Delay to detect initial heartbeat “significantly reduced.”

Tactical ability (Focus of Attention):

  • Range of Focus of Attention tactical reduced from 75m to 60m
  • The firing speed of ability is now 30 percent faster
  • Ability no longer cancels heals, revives, or activates respawn beacons
  • Scan duration reduced from eight seconds to 2.5 seconds
    • Scan now gives a full body scan instead of a diamond
  • Enemies hit by tactical are slowed for 2.5 seconds
  • Enemies’ silenced abilities now last 10 seconds (up from 1.75 seconds)
  • Enemies that have been silenced and are in the line of sight now have a “threat outline” seen by Seer and his teammates

Ultimate Ability (Exhibit):

  • Throw range on ultimate reduced from 50m to 15m
  • Enemies in the ultimate will now only show footsteps instead of diamonds, unless the enemy is firing a weapon
  • Enemies that fire a weapon in Seer Ultimate will have a diamond scan on them for 1.25 seconds

Since no one has yet actually played Seer with the new changes, that is still a matter of opinion. Currently, I believe Seer was unquestionably nerfed, but there are some strong arguments to the contrary. Seer has been nerfed because that’s how he’s been played for the past year. Due to the reduction in throw distance, his ultimate is slightly less adaptable, and the reduced range of his Heartbeat Sensor passive makes it less effective at spotting enemies. The real issue, however, is tactical ability because it underwent the most revisions.
