5 things that GTA Online could still improve upon

The GTA series has been running on Rockstar’s side for nearly a decade. GTA Online is also one of the GTA series, which essentially means there are pieces of content that need some sort of improvement. After all, Powercreep is a real thing. However, not everything that needs to be improved upon is due to Powercreep. In some cases, the material was poorly designed from the start. There is no shortage of criticisms on this front, though rockstar’s side has always tried to make the game better and better.

Five things GTA Online should prioritize improving

1) Anti-cheat (PC)

Many modders have made cheats available in the PC version of GTA Online. It’s an easy platform to cheat, but many other AAA games have substantially better anti-cheat. Considering Gata Online is one of the most profitable games out there, there’s no excuse for it to be so ridiculously bad when it comes to security.

It’s great that this game lacks crossplay because console players would hate to see more modders than usual. Some PC players simply resort to their own mod menus to protect themselves from other modders.

2) Balancing

Rockstar Games promised a balanced next-generation version of GTA Online, but not many changes have been made so far. All that happened, as nightclubs and MC businesses were becoming more profitable, were spectacular. However, the game is still largely unbalanced across many different pieces of content.

There’s nothing quite as valuable as Arena Workshop because it just isn’t worth the time for most players. It would be far more meaningful to get it if something like this was designed to be more profitable or offer a better reward. This is only one example of material that can be balanced, and otherwise there is no shortage of dead material.

3) Car Interiors

GTA Online has a subcategory of vehicle enthusiasts who like to explore every nook and cranny of their ride. A common complaint they have is that the interiors are often cheap and recycled very frequently between different vehicles. This isn’t a big problem for a casual player, but it’s a minor issue that’s especially notable for someone who plays in first-person POV. Not to mention, it’s a shame for a car costing millions of dollars to have an otherwise unremarkable interior.

4) Movement options

It’s sometimes too hard for players to walk around in GTA Online, running is fine, but some of the other options (like rolling while aiming) feel sluggish. This slow gameplay makes tasks like parkour feel less exciting, which is a shame given that the vehicles move very well for the most part.

Some movement options also annoy players, such as stalling their boat to exit and avoiding a dive. Funny thing is, older GTA games have done better, because the player’s boat will still be moving based on its own speed, but the player can proceed as normal once the player exits it.

5) Less pointless driving in missions

Some missions can only be done in invite sessions, which is great. What’s not so cool is that they can still involve players moving from one area to another for several minutes in a specific vehicle they don’t own. This type of content is not eager to play and is just an example of boring game design. This is also one of the reasons why a large in-game world is not always better than a smaller one. Not every mission suffers from this problem, but doing the missions that do is a task.
