Nintendo partners Netflix for a Pokemon film

A brand new Pokemon series will soon be hitting Netflix’s streaming platform. This will be the first time the Pokemon franchise will be collaborating with the streaming giant. Both companies are coming together to bring a stop-motion show, Pokemon Concierge.

During the 2023 Pokemon Day Presents Livestream, a plethora of new information was revealed to the fans. Many new projects were announced, along with more for the Nintendo juggernaut franchise.

However, one particular announcement that got fans both surprised and excited was when Netflix confirmed a brand new partnership with Pokemon in the form of a brand new series dubbed Pokemon Concierge.

What makes this new project different from the usual movies and anime is that it is a stop-motion project. Vice President of Netflix content in Asia, Minyoung Kim, said in a press release, “Netflix is looking forward to delighting fans in Japan and around the world with Pokémon Concierge, an entirely new visual and storytelling experience featuring groundbreaking stop-motion animation set in the Pokémon world in close collaboration with The Pokémon Company.

“We’re also excited to reveal this new series on Pokémon Day and provide fans with even more things to look forward to on this special holiday celebrating the popular franchise.”
