Manchester United dropped points at home today, drawing 0-0 with Watford in the Premier League. Watford got off to a fast start with a series of corners in the first two minutes, but it was Ronaldo who got the first shot away, hitting the post in the fifth minute. Bruno Fernandes was playing down the left side and appeared to be enjoying himself. Around 12 minutes into the game, he had a chance when Ronaldo and Elanga exchanged some good link-up play through the middle before the latter played in Fernandes, whose shot was well blocked by Foster.

VAR rules out Ronaldo strike

At the quarter-hour mark, United thought they had made a breakthrough. Anthony Elanga was at the heart of the build-up, with Alex Telles delivering the cross that Ronaldo converted into the back of the net. However, he was ruled to be offside, so the score remained 0-0.

Then it was Fernandes’ turn to shoot, coming in at the near post, but the connection was shaky and he turned it wide. The daring lineup appeared at ease and played well together in the first twenty minutes. Ronaldo was caught on goal by Foster but stayed on his feet to play it into Fernandes, who headed it over the crossbar under no pressure. United and Elanga were awarded a penalty shortly before halftime, but Kevin Friend waved it away, and VAR agreed.

Ronaldo had another opportunity at the back post as Watford hesitated, allowing Fernandes to pick up the ball and cross to his compatriot, but it appeared to be blocked by his own man. No, was the answer. When the final whistle blew, the points were distributed. Watford fans were relieved, but United fans were left perplexed after their team dropped another two points.
