Liverpool can lift the 2021-22 English Premier League title if they beat Wolves on Sunday and Manchester City fail to win at home to Aston villa. A one-point deficit and inferior goal difference ,means only a victory for the Reds will deliver their 20th league title to go with their Carabao Cup and FA Cup triumphs, ahead of the Champions League final against Real Madrid later this month. Despite fielding a much-changed side from the one which won the FA Cup final against Chelsea, the Reds managed to beat Southampton 2-1 in mid-week. Meanwhile Wolves are heading to Anfield on the back of a 1-1 draw with rock-bottom Norwich City last week.

Jurgen Klopp’s side managed to get the better of Southampton and keep themselves alive in the title race courtesy of goals from Takumi Minamino and Joel Matip after Nathan Redmond had put the Saints in front early in the match. The German tactician made nine changes to the side that started against Southampton from the one which defeated Chelsea 5-4 on penalties to lift the FA Cup trophy. Only central Ibrahima Konate and goalkeeper Alisson retained their place because the reds have a crucial Champions League final coming up against Real Madrid.on May 28.

On the other hand, Wolves’ 1-1 draw against Norwich ended their hopes of European football next season. Ryan Ait-Nouri canceled out Teemu Pukki’s opener to share the spoils at Molineux stadium. The Wanderers are winless in their last six games and four of those have been defeats.

Probable Lineups

Liverpool have a few injury issues as star-striker Mohammed Salah and reliable central defender Virgil van Dijk went off injured during the FA Cup final. Although both have been passed fit, Klopp is unlikely to risk them on the final match-day, keeping one eye on the Champions League final.

As for Wolves, Defenders Max Kilman and Romain Saiss are expected to miss out, as is full-back Nelson Semedo and versatile defender Leander Dendpncker could come back into the starting lineup.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson, Keita, Henderson, Thiago, Jota, Mane, Diaz.

Wolves possible starting lineup: Sa, Boly, Coady, Gomes, Jonny, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Ait Nouri, Neto, Jimenez.
