Zimbabwe and Ireland will play the second of three T20I series matches in Harare on January 14 (Saturday). The hosts now lead the series 1-0 after winning the first game. Gary Ballance also made his international debut in this game. In a 115-run chase, the left-hander batted at number four and scored 30 runs off 29 balls with two fours and a six. Zimbabwe will play its first match following the T20 World Cup. They were eliminated from the tournament during the Super 12 stage. In one of the tournament’s biggest upsets, they overcame Pakistan. The team will work hard to win the game and maintain momentum.
However, Zimbabwe will be missing its talisman Raza and speedy Muzarabani this time, while former England batter Gary Ballance will play for the first time for his natal country. Ireland may use the three T20Is to identify new potential, like Mark Adair’s brother Ross, with the seasoned Paul Stirling, Josh Little, and Lorcan Tucker expected to join the group for the crucial ODIs.
