The third match will be played between UP Warriorz vs Gujarat Giants Women at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on March 5. However, the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) started on March 4, with five teams taking on each other for the title as well. Following the successful auction window, the drama will now unfold on the field, where the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz strive for glory.
The competition which will consist of 22 games over a three-week period features some of the biggest names in women’s cricket as well. Three players – Smriti Mandhana, Ash Gardner and Nat Sciver-Brunt – will earn fees in excess of $400,000 for their participation in the tournament as well. And, it will be interesting to know how they will perform.
Viacom 18 has acquired media rights for WPL for a period of five years as well. The company will pay a whopping ₹951 crore for the period – 2023 to 2027. So, all games of WPL 2023 will be telecast live on the Sports18 network.

The live streaming of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League 2023 games will also be available on the Jio Cinema app. The afternoon games of the tournament will begin at 3:30 pm IST whereas the evening games at 7:30 pm IST as well.
