The eighth match will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore Women and UP Warriorz at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 10. While Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has lost all their three games so far, UP Warriorz (UPW) too faced a defeat after registering a thrilling win over Gujarat Giants as well. However, RCB are at the bottom of the points table, UP Warriorz are in third place as well with two points so far as well.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women could only manage 190 while chasing 202 against Gujarat Giants. Sophie Devine smashed 66 whereas Ellyse Perry scored 32 and Heather Knight hit a quickfire 11-ball 30 but their efforts weren’t enough too to win. On the other hand, UPW scored 169 runs while chasing 215 and lost to the opponent as well.

However, after the loss, Smriti Mandhana, RCB captain said: “In our bowling, we gave 10-15 above par. Really proud of the way the girls batted. It’s a good outfield – one end is really short. That did play on some of our bowlers’ minds. It’s about being hard on ourselves. The way Shreyanka bowled and batted. Also the way Kanika showed her approach. Those two are the positives from our domestic setup.”

Alyssa Healy, the UP Warriorz captain said: “That is T20 cricket. We went for 65 runs in the last 5 overs and lost 3 wickets in the powerplay. It was going to go one of two ways, we would have killed for Grace there at the end but Ismail did well. We gave away a few too many in the field. TM (Tahlia McGrath) was alone with the bat and we needed to give her support. We knew we had to come out firing, I was too loose against Jonno (Jonassen) in that over. The positive is we are doing a lot of good things but in a tournament like this it is hard to fix the small things. Fingers crossed we can correct those in a few days time at the CCI.”
