Travis Head is the left hand batsman and a right arm bowler who represents the Australian cricket team. He comes in the middle of the order to bat for his team. Travis was born on 29 December 1993. Head began his career at the age of 18. He got  his first-class debut while representing Australia in the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. For all his domestic matches he is assigned to South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers. He was a prominent player of South Australia’s Sheffield Shield team and was named captain in 2015. He was assigned as a co-vice-captain of the Australian national team in Tests from January 2019 until November 2020.

At the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, he shined with both bat and ball. After he led  Australia (South) to victory in the 2012-13 National Under-19 Championships, he was chosen Player of the Championship for the second year in a row. Travis represented  Australia (South) at both the under-17 and under-19 categories. This made his National Under-19 Championships debut at the age of 17. Travis became the youngest captain of the Australia (South) team in its 122-year first-class history, at the age of 21. Travis’s performance was recognised by national selectors, and they included him to Australia’s team for a series of Twenty20 Internationals against India. Head was then later named to Australia’s One Day International (ODI) team for a tri-series in the West Indies for the first time. He later joined the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. He then went to England to play County cricket for Yorkshire. In the fourth match with Yorkshire Travis broke the record of highest batting partnership (List A) with Jack Leaning for 274 runs. In Domestic cricket Travis was a big name, considering his consistent performance.

Travis had played a total of 104 International matches including all the three formats. Travis has an average of 40.51 in 51 matches, which is considerable. In Test matches, he has an average of 45.4 with a total of 57 innings. Playing in the middle order was becoming unfruitful for Travis, as he was unable to convert his scores to a century. His highest score was 57 runs while playing in the middle order for Australia’s team. Travis was promoted from the middle order to the top order for Australia’s series against Pakistan in January 2017. As a result, Head struck his first ODI century against Pakistan at Adelaide Oval on Australia Day. Currently Travis isn’t part of any IPL team as he was unsold in the auctions that took place for IPL 2023.
