Siraj made his T20I debut for Team India against New Zealand on 4th November 2017, where he claimed the wicket of Kane Williamson and finished with figures of 1 wicket for 53 runs from four overs. However, he made his ODI debut against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on 15th January 2019 as well.

On 26th October 2020, Mohammed Siraj was added to India’s Test squad for their series against Australia. After Mohammad Shami got injured, Siraj replaced him in the squad and he made his Test debut for India on 26th December 2020, against Australia as well. His first Test wicket was of Marnus Labuschagne whereas in January 2021, during the fourth Test of the series against Australia, the speedster took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket as well.
However, he is a common face in the cash-rich Indian Premier League. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him in February 2017 for 2.6 crores. However, in January 2018, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 IPL auction as well. On 21st October 2020, he became the first bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League to bowl consecutive maiden overs in a single match as well.
