Mohammad Amir is an international cricketer who plays for the country Pakistan. He is a left arm medium pace bowler and a left arm batsman. Amir made his first-class debut at the age of 17 in November 2008. In 2009, for the first time he got to play in a one day international and a test match in series against Sri Lanka. In 2009 itself he made his debut in the T20 world cup. Mohammad Amir’s first T20 world performance was not outstanding, but it was quite considerable for a young debutant. He played a total 7 matches in the world cup and took 6 wickets in total with the economy of 7.29. He also bowled 1 maiden over in the world cup. The most impressive part about Mohammad Amir was not his stats, but his action and the ability to swing the ball in both the directions.

Just when his career started, M Amir was accused of spot-fixing and he was sentenced to five years in prison. This happened on August 29, 2010 when Amir bowled to deliberate no balls in a match against England at Lords. Amir publically begged for forgiveness after pleading guilty to the verdict handed down by his prosecutor at the International Cricket Council. Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif alongside Mohammad Amir were also involved in the scandal of spot-fixing.  They were convicted of spot-fixing conspiracy charges in November 2011 at Southwark Crown Court,and served three months in prison. Due to his younger age and confession, he received a five-year ban, which was regarded as moderate in comparison to the other two conspirators, who received seven and ten-year suspensions, thereby destroying their careers.

On 29 January 2015, it was announced that Amir will be permitted to resume his game in the domestic format. The ban on Mohammad Amir’s game was to end on September 2, 2015. Mohammad Amir also accepted a contract with Chittagong Vikings in the 2015 Bangladesh Premier League. In 2016, he returned to play internationally for Pakistan on their tour of New Zealand. He was also given one of thirty-three central contracts for the The 2018-19 season by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He announced his retirement from test cricket on July 26, 2019 to focus only on the limited overs game. On December 17, 2020 he announced his retirement from all the formats of international cricket.

Mohammad Amir played a total of 147 matches in his entire career in international Cricket. Out of which he played 36 test matches, 61 one day internationals and 50 T20 internationals. M Amir with the economy of 2.86 took a total of 119 wickets in test matches. He took 81 wickets in his 61 ODI appearances with the economy rate of 4.78. In his 50 T20 appearances he took 59 wickets with the economy rate of 7.01. Amir was quite a formidable bowler throughout his whole career.
