He didn’t, however, make it to playing 11. Max played his first ODI match against Zimbabwe on June 19, 2019. Max was chosen to play for the Netherlands in the 2019 ICC World Cup qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates. Max hit 133 runs against Malaysia in the second game of the Nepal Tri Nation series, in just 73 balls. Max became the first T20I player from the Netherlands to reach a century mark in the T20Is. By scoring a half century in the first match against Scotland in May 2021, he became the second batsman after Tom Cooper to score three half centuries in the first three ODIs of his career.
