Jason Roy, a professional cricketer who plays internationally for the England cricket team. He has played for the national squad in the T20I and One Day International formats of the game. Jason plays in both domestic cricket for Surrey and numerous clubs in different T20 leagues. On July 21, 1990, Jason was born in Durban, South Africa. When he was 10 years old, he moved to England from South Africa with his family. He is a right handed batsman who usually opens the innings. Jason has participated in the Big Bash League with the Sydney Sixers in the 2016–17 season. Due to the back pain during the training sessions, he was forced to withdraw from the competition. Lahore Qalandars paid 70,000 USD to sign him to a contract for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Later on in the PSL’s 2018 season, Quetta Gladiators bought him. He has played for a number of Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, including Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Lions, and Delhi Daredevils. He was purchased by Oval Invincibles during the 2022 season of The Hundred. He is now signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL after going unsold in the 2023 auctions.
Jason participated in his first T20 International (T20I) match against India in September 2014 for England. The match between Ireland and England, in which Jason was selected and was about to make his One Day International (ODI) debut, was canceled due to bad weather. He was then picked to play in a 5-match ODI series against New Zealand. Jason was part of the England team that won the 2019 ICC world cup. In 2016, Jason and Alex Hales set a record for the highest partnership in ODI, scoring 256 runs together against Sri Lanka. Jason also holds the record for England’s highest-ever ODI score with 180 runs against Australia in 2019.
