Hashmatullah Shahidi, born on November 18, 1994, in Kabul, Afghanistan, is a talented left-arm batsman. He has showcased his skills across all three formats of the game while representing Afghanistan. Making his international debut against Zimbabwe in 2017, Shahidi quickly earned a permanent position within the national team. Shahidi is widely recognized for his exceptional technique and unwavering composure at the crease. He possesses a diverse repertoire of shots and displays remarkable proficiency when facing spin bowling. Furthermore, his prowess extends beyond batting as he exhibits exceptional fielding skills, often making crucial catches throughout his illustrious career.

In his international Test career, Shahidi has represented Afghanistan in six matches, accumulating an impressive total of 375 runs with a remarkable batting average of 54. His highest individual score stands at 200, achieved against Zimbabwe in the year 2021. It is worth noting that this memorable innings also marked Afghanistan’s inaugural Test victory.

Shahidi made his Test debut in 2018 against India, where he showed great determination by scoring a resilient 36 runs in the second innings to help Afghanistan avoid defeat. His highest individual score in ODIs is an unbeaten 97, achieved against Ireland in 2019. Shahidi made his ODI debut back in 2013 when playing against Kenya.
