Anukul Roy is a professional cricketer who plays in India. He was born on 30 November, 1998. He is an allrounder who bats with his left hand and bowls left arm orthodox. Anukul represents Jharkhand state in domestic cricket in different trophies like Ranji trophy, Vijay Hazare trophy and others. It was in December 2017, when he was selected for the under 19 India’s team for the World Cup going to take place in 2018. Anukul originally belongs to Samastipur region situated in Bihar state of India. This was his first ever selection to the India’s team since he started playing cricket. He became the highest wicket taking bowler for the Indian team in the under 19 World Cup.
Before entering in the under 19 World Cup he had to face many setbacks. He had an ankle injury, because of which he had to miss Challenger series and also before the World Cup he had to take his name back from the under 19 Asia Cup, which took place in Kuala Lumpur. In the under 19 World Cup Anukul took 14 wickets in just 6 matches. He also showcased his skills in the batting department. He was initially a left arm orthodox bowler only, but eventually he proved himself to be an all rounder. As Anukul originally belongs to Bihar, but he had to move to Jharkhand to further pursue his career in the game of cricket.

On November 1, 2018, Anukul got the chance to debut for first class cricket. He played for Jharkhand in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy. It was on 8 February, 2018, when Anukul for the first time played his List A match for Jharkhand in the 2017-18 season of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Anukul Roy admires the best all rounder in the world, Ravindra Jadeja. Anukul bowls like Jadeja and also has a very strong throwing arm. He is seen, being very active on the field. In the mega auction of the Indian Premier League on February 22, 2022, Anukul was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders. Before getting into KKR, he was part of the Mumbai Indians side. He played his debut IPL match against Rajasthan Royals. In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, Anukul was the highest wicket taking bowler. He took 30 wickets in just 9 matches. These stats of his were amazing and grabbed many’s attention. In the T20 format, he played his debut match for Jharkhand in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 21 February in the 2018-19 season. He was selected in India B’s team for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy. Anukul has played a total of 4 IPL matches till now and he managed to grab 2 wickets in them.
