Veteran New Zealand pace bowler Tim Southee was born on 11 December 1988. He is also the vice-captain in T20Is. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler and also a hard-hitting lower-order batter. He is also the third New Zealand bowler to take 300 Test wickets as well. He was one of the country’s youngest cricketers, who made his debut at the age of 19 in February 2008. On his Test debut against England, he claimed 5 wickets and made 77 off 40 balls in the second innings as well.

However, he was named as New Zealand’s captain for the first T20I against West Indies in place of Kane Williamson as the regular captain was rested for that game. Tim Southee is also known for his ability to generate late outswing at a good pace, and later with off-cutting slower balls almost like a faster off-spinner on a bad wicket and death bowling as well. He was also the third-leading wicket-taker at the 2011 ICC World Cup (18 wickets at 17.33) as well. His best ODI figures are 7/33 which he picked up against England during the 2015 Cricket World Cup whereas his best figures in a T20I are 5/18 came against Pakistan in 2010 as well.
