Taskin Ahmed Tazim is a young cricketer who plays for Bangladesh. On January 10, 2007, Taskin started playing cricket in the Abahani playground. He was selected to play for the Bangladesh national under-19 cricket team after appearing at the under-15 and under-17 categories. In October 2011, he made his first-class debut for Dhaka Metropolis against Barisal Division. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He plays first-class, ‘List A’ cricket and represents Dhaka Metropolis, as well as Rangpur Rangers franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League. Taskin Ahmed is the first Bangladeshi cricketer to take five wickets in his first ODI performance. 

Taskin became Bangladesh’s leading wicket taking bowler in the 2012 ICC Under-19 World Cup. He played outstandingly and took a total of 11 wickets in the tournament. He was awarded man of the match in his second Twenty20 representing the Chittagong Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League 2 for his bowling figures of 4/31 against Duronto Rajshahi in the semi-final. He grabbed 8 wickets in four matches, and this proved to be the most significant turning point in his career. Taskin played for Chittagong Vikings in BPL 3. He was the fourth most googled person in Bangladesh in 2015.  After the drafting for the 2018-19 Bangladesh Premier League, Taskin was assigned to the Sylhet Sixers roster in October 2018. He took twenty-two wickets in twelve matches, he became the team’s highest wicket taking bowler in the tournament.

Taskin played a crucial role in whitewashing Pakistan in April 2015 and beating India in June 2015. Taskin was included in Bangladesh’s team for the 2016 World Cup Twenty20. He was then excluded from bowling in international cricket for an inappropriate action during the tournament. He was picked to Bangladesh’s team throughout all formats for their visit to Zimbabwe in June 2021. He made 75 runs in his first Test against Zimbabwe, giving him his first Test half-century. He and Mahmudullah shared a 191-run partnership, which is the second-highest  partnership for the 9th wicket in Test cricket. Taskin’s 75 runs were also the greatest individual score by a Bangladeshi batsman at number ten.

Taskin Ahmed is the fastest bowler in Bangladesh according to the current stats. In the T20 world cup 2021, Taskin bowled at the speed of 150+, which is the fastest in Bangladesh cricket history. He broke the record of Mashrafe Mortaza, who bowled at the speed of 148 km/hr. Taskin has played a total of 120 international matches for Bangladesh. Out of which most of them are One day international. He has taken a total of 136 wickets in his career till now. Most impressive stats of Taskin’s bowling is in One day internationals. He has played 54 matches and has taken 73 wickets with the economy rate of 5.60. Lastly he played for Rangpur Rangers in Bangladesh Premier League, and then got selected for Colombo Stars in Lanka Premier League in 2021.
