Shoriful Islam is a cricketer from Bangladesh. He was born on 3 June 2001. On September 15, 2017, Shoriful played his first-class debut match for Rajshahi Division in the 2017-18 National Cricket League. On 7 February 2018, he played his List A debut match for Prime Bank Cricket Club in the 2017-18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. Shoriful became Prime Bank Cricket Club’s joint-leading wicket taking bowler in the 2017-18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. He grabbed 17 wickets in 8 matches. On August 13, 2018, Shoriful played his Twenty20 debut match for Bangladesh A against Ireland A. The next day, he became one of twelve debutants selected to Bangladesh’s preliminary team of 31 players for the 2018 Asia Cup.
Shoriful was selected to the Khulna Titans squad in October 2018, During the selection for the 2018-19 Bangladesh Premier League. He was selected to Bangladesh’s team for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in December 2018. He was selected to Bangladesh’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup team in December 2019. Shoriful became one of four uncapped players who got selected to a preliminary team for the One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies in January 2021. During the same month, he got the chance to play in Bangladesh’s One-Day International team for matches against the West Indies.

Shoriful was selected to Bangladesh’s team for the series they were going to play against New Zealand in the January month 2021. On March 28, 2021, he played his T20 International (T20I) debut match for Bangladesh against New Zealand. Shoriful was selected to Bangladesh’s initial Test team for the series against Sri Lanka in April 2021. After that he got selected to the final 15-man team for the first Test. He played his Test debut match for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka on April 29, 2021. He was selected to Bangladesh’s ODI team for the series against Sri Lanka in May 2021. On May 25, 2021, he played his One Day International (ODI) debut match for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka.
Shoriful’s name was selected for the initial team of Bangladesh for the 2021 T20I World Cup. Shoriful hadn’t had a long career till now, but he has an impactful one. He has played a total of 48 International matches including all the three formats of the game. Shoriful in 29 T20I has taken 32 wickets with an economy of 8.31.
