Team India speedster Shardul Thakur was born on 16th October 1991). He is a medium-fast bowler and also plays first-class cricket for Mumbai. In November 2012, he made his First-class debut for Mumbai against Rajasthan at Jaipur in the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy where he picked up four wickets at a bowling average of 82.0 from his first four games as well. In 2013–14 Ranji season, he took 27 wickets including one five-wicket haul. In the 2014-15 Ranji season, he claimed 48 wickets from ten games with five five-wicket hauls and soon after he made his List A debut on 27 February 2014 in the 2013–14 Vijay Hazare Trophy as well. However, in 2015-16 Ranji Trophy final, he claimed eight wickets against Saurashtra and led Mumbai to win its 41st Ranji Trophy title as well.
He made his ODI debut on 31 August 2017 against Sri Lanka whereas his T20I debut came for India against South Africa on 21 February 2018 as well. In October 2018, he made his debut in the longer format too against the West Indies. Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab bought him for the 2015 season of the Indian Premier League and made his debut against Delhi Daredevils. In March 2017, he was acquired by Rising Pune Supergiants whereas in January 2018, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings as well. In 2021, he was the leading wicket-taker for CSK, bagging 21 wickets in the season. In February 2022, he was bought by the Delhi Capitals as well.
