Naveen ul Haq is a professional cricketer, who represents the Afghanistan national cricket team Internationally. Naveen has represented his national team in two formats of the game, which are T20 Internationals and One Day Internationals. Naveen is a right arm medium pace bowler, who specializes in taking wickets. Although he is a full time bowler, he can bat at occasions and is a right handed batsman. In the year 2016, Naveen played for the Afghanistan team for the first time. He was born on 23 September 1999 in a Kabul region of Afghanistan. He is one of the tallest players in his team with the height of 6 feet and 1 inch. He has had quite an impactful domestic career till now. 

It was on 7 March 2018, when Naveen played his first class debut match for the Kabul region in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4 day tournament. In the inaugural edition of the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) in September 2018, Naveen was selected by the Nangarhar team. In the 2019-20 season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Naveen was signed by Sylhet Thunders in November 2019. Naveen has also been a part of Caribbean Premier League (CPL), as he played for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2020 season of the league. He was selected by Kandy Tuskers for the first ever season of Lanka Premier League (LPL) in October, 2020. Prior to the T20 Blast in England in 2021, he was signed by Leicestershire in february 2021.

For the summer 2022 in England, Naveen was dropped by Leicestershire Foxes in October 2021. Naveen took his first 5-fer in T20 cricket while playing against Worcestershire in the T20 Blast in June 2022. He took 5 wickets and gave just 11 runs in his 4 overs. In the month of December 2022, Naveen got selected by Lucknow Super Giants for the 2023 Indian Premier League season. So far, he has played 4 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has taken 7 wickets. He played his debut IPL match against Rajasthan Royals on 19 April, 2023. He has the best economy rate in the team with just 4.75 in 4 overs. While playing against RCB on 1 May, he had some exchange of words with Virat Kohli after the match.

It was on 25 May, 2016, when Naveen played his debut One Day International (ODI) match against Bangladesh. Earlier, he led Afghanistan’s under 19 team in the 2016 Asia Cup and was also a part of Afghanistan’s under 19 team in 2016 under 19 world cup. In the Desert T20 challenge in 2017, Naveen played his T20 debut match for Afghanistan against Namibia on 19 January, 2017. He was selected in Afghanistan’s T20 team for the 2019 Bangladesh tri series. Against Bangladesh on 21 September 2019, he played his T20 International (T20I) debut match for Afghanistan. In the 2021 ICC T20 cricket world cup, Naveen was selected in Afghanistan’s team.
