Mitchell Marsh is a professional cricketer, who plays for Australian cricket team Internationally. Marsh plays in all the three formats of the game for the Australian team. Mitchell is an all round player, who is a right handed batsman and right arm medium fast bowler. Mitchell was born on 20 October, 1991 in Attadale, Western Australia. He has represented his team in 2015 Icc world cup and 2021 ICC T20 world cup. Mitchell’s elder brother Shaun is a former cricketer, who has also played for the national team. Mitchell’s sister Melissa is a pro basketball player in Australia. He is one of the tallest players in the team and oftenly called with a nickname, Bison.

In a Ford Ranger Cup match, Mitchell played his debut match in domestic cricket for the Warriors on 17 February, 2009. He is the youngest debutant to play a one day match in Australian domestic cricket. He led the Australian team in the under 19 world cup in 2010. He led his team to win the tournament and he was widely praised for his performance. For the 2010 season of Indian Premier League(IPL), he was selected by Deccan Chargers and then for 2011 season was selected by Pune Warriors, a team which had Mitchell’s father as coach. In the 2020 season of IPL, he was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad, however he played only one match due to the injury. In the 2021 season, he had to withdraw his name due to the post effects of the bio bubble while pandemic.

Mitchell was selected for the Australia tour of South Africa in September 2011. In the later stages of the series he was included in the One Day International in place of Brett Lee because of his injury. On 22 October, 2014, Mitchell played his debut Test match against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates. Mitchell took his first 5 wickets in a single One Day International against England in the 2015 ICC cricket world cup. He scored his first Test century in the 2017-18 Ashes series, when he replaced Peter Handscomb. He scored 181 runs and fell just 1 run short from his brother’s highest score of 182. He had to give 20% of his match fee after he was found using offensive language in a match to Kagiso Rabada against South Africa.

Mitchell was given his central contract by the Australia Cricket Board in the 2018-19 season. He was picked for the squad of 2019 Ashes series, however he didn’t get the opportunity to play in any of the first 4 matches. He played in the fifth match and took his first 5-fer in the Test match. In the Australia tour of the West Indies, in the T20I series, Mitchell scored two consecutive half centuries. He got his best figures in T20 in the fourth match, where he took 3 wickets and scored 75 runs. He was selected in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. In the finals, he was honored with the title of man of the match for his match winning performance of 77 runs. Mitchell is one of the most versatile all rounders in the game, who can play in all the formats.
