Manish Pandey is a professional cricketer who has represented India Internationally. Manish Pandey belongs to a beautiful hill station ‘Nainital’ situated in Uttrakhand state of India. He is a right handed batsman, who was once considered to be one of the best T20 batsmen. He was born on 10 September, 1989. He bats at the middle order and represents Karnataka in domestic cricket. Manish along with his family moved to Bangalore city when he was 15 years old. He attended Kendra Vidyalay for studies and his father was an honorable army man. Manish’s sister Anita was also a cricketer and used to play for Karnataka. Manish was a part of the team that won the 2008 under 19 World Cup in Malaysia.
In the 2008 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Manish was selected for the Mumbai Indians. In the 2009 season of IPL he was acquired by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He used to open the innings for RCB, and while doing so, he became the first ever Indian to score a century in the Indian Premier League. In 2014 Kolkata Knight Riders selected Manish. In the finals of the season, He played an outstanding and match winning inning. He scored 94 runs against Kings Eleven Punjab and helped KKR to claim their first IPL trophy, He was named as man of the match for his performance. In the 2014 and 2015 season of IPL he was in the top scorers list.

After consistent and outstanding performance of Manish Pandey, he was selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 season of IPL for a whopping amount of 11 crores. Manish was one of the highest paid players of that season. Due to the lack of form and poor performance, he wasn’t included in the playing eleven in the 2021 season of IPL. In the 2022 season of IPL, Manish was selected by Lucknow Super Giants for 4.6 crores. Manish Pandey serves as a captain of the Karnataka team in all the domestic series. It was on 14 July, 2015 when Manish got to play his debut match for India in the One Day International against Zimbabwe. In the very first match, he scored 71 runs and helped India to build a considerable score.
As Manish was included for the T20 International series against Zimbabwe, he played his debut match on 17 July, 2015. Manish played an extraordinary innings against Australia and prevented India from losing all the matches in the series. He scored a century, remained not out and made India win the match. Manish was selected in the T20 World Cup team of 2016 in place of Yuvraj Singh. He was also included in the team that played in the Champions Trophy in 2017. The last time he played for India was in 2021 against Sri Lanka in an ODI series. Manish has played a total of 68 International matches for India and has made a total of 1275 runs. He was considered one of the best batsmen in the IPL for quite a period of time.
