He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in February 2020 against India whereas, in May 2020, New Zealand Cricket awarded him with a central contract, prior to the 2020–21 season. Jamieson also attended Auckland Grammar school and he was also a part of New Zealand’s squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. However, Kyle Jamieson has also played point guard at the New Zealand Breakers academy, but he chose cricket over basketball as he was a fast bowler also.
The right-arm fast-medium bowler and lower-order batsman, Kyle Jamieson started as a batting all-rounder, but in 2012, he became a bowler. He made his T20I debut for Canterbury on 4 December 2016 and in June 2018, he was awarded a contract with Canterbury for the 2018–19 season as well. However, he made his ODI debut for New Zealand, against India, on 8 February 2020, and was named the player of the match as well. Jamieson made his Test debut for New Zealand, against India, on 21 February 2020 and in the next match, he took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket as well.
