Krunal Pandya is a professional cricketer who represents India Internationally. He is an all round cricketer, who bats left-handed and bowls slow left arm orthodox. Krunal was born on 24 March 1991 in the Ahmedabad city of Gujarat state, India. On October 6, 2016, Pandya played his first-class debut match while playing for Baroda in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy competition. His performance raised him to the positions of top run scorer and top wicket taker for Baroda in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made 366 runs in just 8 games with an average of 45.75 and at  81.33 strike rate. This included 3 half centuries and a highest score of 78 runs. He had an economy rate of 4.82, when he took 11 wickets in 8 games.

Krunal was acquired by the Mumbai Indians in the 2018 Indian Premier League auction in January 2018. In his second first-class match, he had scored 160 runs with 21 boundaries against Railways in the Ranji Trophy and was the top run scorer for Baroda in the first innings with a strike rate of 73.06. Krunal  was bought by Mumbai Indians for 2 crore at the 2016 IPL auction. In April 2016, he played his first IPL match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium against the Gujarat Lions. Throughout the competition, he kept performing well with the bat and the ball. He was named Player of the Match for his 47 in the championship win over Rising Pune Supergiant.

Pandya’s excessively angry reactions on the pitch grab the attention of others in IPL 2021. He frequently displayed anger towards the fielders when there was no way the ball could be stopped. While several criticized Krunal for his actions, others have made him into a central part of memes. After being caught hurling a moisturizer bottle in the direction of Anukul Roy during a match against the Rajasthan Royals, Krunal grabbed notice for his questionable behavior once more later in the tournament. Indian cricketer Deepak Hooda withdrew from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 after accusing Krunal Pandya of using “abusive language” and “threats to terminate his career” in a scathing letter he sent to the Baroda Cricket Association in January 2021.

Krunal was included in India’s One Day International (ODI) team for their series against England in March 2021. On March 23, 2021, against England, he played his ODI debut match for India, scoring 58 unbeaten. His ODI debut fifty, which he reached in just 26 balls, was the fastest ever. Krunal  was included in the Twenty20 International (T20I) teams for India’s series against the West Indies and Australia in October 2018. On November 4, 2018, he played in his first T20I for India against the West Indies, taking one wicket while scoring 21 runs not out off just nine balls. He was chosen to participate in all three of India’s Twenty20 International games against Australia. Krunal hasn’t got enough opportunities at the International stage, but he has had an amazing career in domestic cricket and IPL.
