Jason Holder was born on 5 November 1991. He is a Barbadian cricketer and the former captain of the West Indies cricket team as well. He is a right-arm fast-bowling all-rounder who made his One Day International (ODI) debut in January 2013 and Test debut in June 2014 also. In June 2019, Holder featured in his 100th ODI match for the West Indies, during the 2019 Cricket World Cup as well. In January 2019, he was ranked as the number one all-rounder in the world as per the official ICC Test rankings. In August 2019, Cricket West Indies named him the Test Player of the Year as well whereas he is the first West Indies male player to take a hat-trick in T20I also.

However, Jason Holder made his ODI debut on 1 February 2013 against Australia. He made his T20I debut against New Zealand in January 2014, registering the figures of 2–34 in 3 overs as well. After performing well in ODIs, he was selected for the Test squad in June 2014 and made his Test debut on 26 June 2014 against New Zealand as well. Although he did not take any wickets in the first innings, he bowled quite economically with four maidens as well. In the second innings, Holder took his maiden Test wicket by removing Ross Taylor for 16 runs. He finished the match with 2 for 50. Holder also scored 90 runs in the match, which also included his maiden Test fifty. But West Indies lost the match by 53 runs as well.

At 23 years, 72 days, he became the youngest-ever West Indian captain. On 4 September 2015, he was made the captain of the Test side and became the second youngest test captain of all time for the West Indies and the 15th youngest of all time for any Test Nation as well. On 2 July 2017, he claimed his maiden ODI five-wicket haul (5/27) as well.

On 15 March 2018, Holder became the fastest player for the West Indies, in terms of matches, to score 1,000 runs and take 100 wickets in ODIs (74) as well. In January 2019, Holder scored his first double-century in first-class cricket in his team’s second innings of the First Test at home against England at the Kensington Oval, his home ground. His 202 not out was the third-highest individual score by a number eight batsman in Tests. However, on 17 June 2019, in the match against Bangladesh, Holder played in his 100th ODI match.

And on 27 June 2019, in the match against India, Holder played in his 150th international match for the West Indies as well. Meanwhile, on 1 July 2019, in the match against Sri Lanka, Holder became the first captain of the West Indies to take 100 wickets in ODIs. Moreover, on 31 August 2019, in the second Test against India, Holder claimed his 100th wicket in the longer format as well. In January 2022, Jason Holder picked up his five wickets for 27 runs, to take his first five-wicket haul in T20Is. Holder also became the first bowler for West Indies to take a hat-trick in T20Is as well. He also became the fourth bowler to take four wickets in four balls in the shorter format as well.
